Yesterday I found out more about Miyabi, my japanese billet. She is a beginner at English, she turns 14 in July, she is allergic to plants, she gets hay-fever and she loves animals!! I do aswell, so I think we will get along very nicely.  xoxo Amber :)

YAY!!! i was donated a trailer load of fire wood from the Lions Club of Carterton. this is to help me with fundraising for the Japan trip. and i am pretty good at selling raffle tickets, if that is what we will do with with it. in the previous raffle, i raised $600. hopefully we can get around about the same amount of money raised with this trailer load of wood.  :)

Only 41 more days until the Japanese billets come. What I am most looking forward to is spending time with Miyabi and visiting places with her, and I hope she enjoys her time in New Zealand with me. I hope Miyabi can teach me more about her culture and Japan. I can't wait!! :) xoxo Amber Spicer. :)

Thursday 7 June 2012

Hey, my name is Amber Spicer, I am a Yr8 student of Masterton Intermediate School. I live out in the country in Carterton. This year I am a part of the Japanese exchange of 2012, when a few students from my school host and billet a student from Shijonawate Gakuen Junior High School in Japan. I will be writing a blog/diary about my feelings and experiences leading up to and during this exchange.

I'm really excited about this trip, and well under way with fundraising. Last week I found out who I will be hosting, her name is Miyabi. I can't wait to meet her in August.
The thing that I am probably worried about the most is the food. I am a rather fussy eater, so I hope that there is good stuff over in Japan.
